Like pressure turns coal into a beautiful diamond, adversity can become a starting point for God to do something beautiful in our lives. He can transform our hearts, change our attitudes, teach us what it means to trust Him.
However, instead of growing embittered and distrustful of God, we must look beyond the present struggle and recognize what God is doing.
Adversity is God’s choice tool for building character and equipping us for future ministry. Not only does adversity put an edge on our relationship with Christ, it also enables us to minister to those we will meet in the future with whom we share a similar experience.
Adversity hits us in our weakest areas in which God desires to stengthen us. Paul writes, “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Cor. 12:10). He recognized that his strongest areas were his weakest when he realized that he was incapable on his own.
God has a design and purpose behind adversity in our lives. Even when the enemy attempts to destroy us on our faith through an attack, God can take the situation and bring glory from it.
Instead of hardening our hearts toward adverse situations, we must seek to discover what God desires to do in our hearts and give Him full authority to do so.
